IS FROM 2013 ONLY CTS-2010 CHEQUES ONLY WILL BE WORK

Do you know that As Per RBI Guidelines , Soon all the banks issue the new checkbook only of CTS-2010 standard cheque . Before the CTS-2010 valid from the 1st January of 2013 . But now RBI gives some relief for all Non CTS-2010 Checkbook users and give them three months more time by extended the deadline till 31st march 2013 for banks to issue new standard cheques of CTS-2010 .
                                                                                Here Remind the one thing that if your checkbook is issued after the August 2011 than your checkbook is according to the CTS-2010 and it is valid . This new initiative has been taken by RBI for increasing the standardization , stop the physical movement of instrument and for enhance more security .

 What Is The CTS-2010 Standard Mean ?

As Per The RBI , The set of minimum security would not only ensure uniformity across all cheques forms issued by banks in the country but also help presenting banks while recognizing cheques of drawee banks in an image based processing scenario . The homogeneity in security features is expected to act as a deterrent against cheque frauds , while the standardization of fields placements on cheque forms would enable straight-through-processing by use of optical/image character reorganization technology . The benchmark technology are collectively known as "CTS-2010 STANDARD " (answer via rbi.org/faqs)    


Some Benefits Of CTS-2010 Below : 

  • Banks Logo will be printed in ultraviolet (UV) ink . The logo captured by / visible in UV enabled scanners or lamps .
  • The IFSC and MICR codes , must on every cheque .
  • If by mistake any there is need of changes or correction that will be not acceptable . That,s means any change which you want after fulfill cheque for it fresh cheque will be used by customers .
  • No Geographical restriction .
  •  short the Cheque clearing cycle .
  • Under the CTS-2010 the cheque will be issue . It shall carry a standardized watermark , with the words 'CTS INDIA ' which can be seen only when the cheque is contact with the any light source . 
  • On the lower right hand side of cheque leaf  " Please Sign Above " is mentioned .
  • On the left hand side of cheque leaf design like is embossed .
